IHACPA Privacy Collection Notice – Public submissions
When this privacy notice applies
This privacy notice applies when you participate in a public consultation process undertaken by the Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA).
Participation in a public consultation is voluntary and can be anonymous.
If you choose to provide your name or other identifying details, we will handle your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988. In doing so all personal contact details for all submissions will be removed or redacted from each submission before they are published on IHACPA’s website and/or IHACPA Engagement Hub which is hosted by Citizen Space from Delib.
What type of information should I include in my submission?
Submissions may include personal or sensitive information about you or someone else. The OAIC website explains the meaning of these terms.
While we seek your opinions, we do not require personal information about anyone else. When preparing your submission, you should exclude or de-identify information about any other people.
If you want to provide identifying information about another person, you must:
- give them a copy of this privacy notice
- provide a certified copy of that person’s written consent to include their information in your submission and their contact details. Please note we may contact that person separately to confirm their consent.
What we collect
Through the submission process, we may collect your:
- name
- email address and phone number
- organisation and role
- personal views or information about your experience, and others’ experience in relation to the consultation topic.
Although submissions may contain sensitive information, you do not need to provide sensitive information if you do not wish to do so.
How we collect your information
We will collect your personal information:
- directly from you, through your submission
- indirectly, if another person includes your information in a submission with your consent.
Why we collect your information
We collect your personal information to inform our work program, including the development of our pricing frameworks, determinations, pricing advice, classifications and policies. Your submission will be recorded, reviewed and used to inform the development of our key policy and pricing documents, and may also be used in other work we undertake to fulfill our statutory functions under the National Health Reform Act 2011 (Cth). Your information will not be used for any commercial purposes.
Who we disclose your information to
We may publish your submissions on our Engagement Hub and/or IHACPA’s website if you consent to its publication. You can also ask us not to publish your submission.
We will redact personally identifying information (such as names, email addresses and phone numbers) in your submission before publishing. We retain the right not to publish any submissions, or part thereof, where we consider it appropriate.
We will not disclose your personal information to any third parties unless compelled to do so by law.
Please note that any information we publish from submissions will also be disclosed overseas by way of publication on the internet.
Storage of your information
We store your information securely in our Electronic Document and Records Management System records system (Content Manager) and Citizen Space, on servers located in Australia.

Delib Privacy Information
Delib's software (this website) enables organisations to set up and operate activities, through which they can engage with you.
This site is managed by the controlling organisation, the Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority. When you access and use this site, the personal information you have submitted to these activities will go to the organisation. Delib will not access your personal information unless requested to do so by the organisation, and only for the purposes of assisting them with the administration of this site.
Accessing your Personal Information
If you have any questions or requests about your personal information, for example to request a copy of it, or to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong, please contact the organisation (as stated in their Privacy Notice / Privacy Statement / Privacy Policy). It is the controlling organisation's responsibility to answer any questions or requests about your personal information.
Collection of Browser Information
The information provided by your computer when you use this website is collected by Delib. For example, your browser type, IP address, language preference, referring site and the date and time. The purpose for collecting this information is to maintain the security of the website and for operating and improving the software.
